Vermont State Police have identified a body discovered in the Winooski River near the Bolton Falls Power Dam as John Gaye, a year-old resident of Essex, Vermont.
The Waterbury Fire Department assisted troopers with the recovery and the body was taken to the Vermont Chief Medical Examinter’s office in Burlington, police said. An autopsy on Friday so far identified the deceased as John Gaye, age 45, of Essex, police said.
The body was brought to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington, VT for an autopsy to determine identity and the cause and manner of death. Following autopsy at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office today (4/11/25), the deceased individual is identified as John Gaye, age 45, of Essex, VT.
John Gaye, 45, from Essex Junction, Vermont, was reported missing on December 18, , after his car was found near Waterbury. Search efforts concluded without locating him until his body was found in the Winooski River on April 9,
