Gay paree meaning

Paris tourism officials want to give new meaning to the term "Gay Paree." The French capital has always wooed visitors with its reputation for fine dining and high fashion, and Paris continually.

It means "Joyful Paris". I find it worth notice that the people at TVTropes have given Gay Paree as the title of their article on common media tropes about France.

But for some travelers, “gay Paris” quite literally means the LGBTQ+ side of Paris, where “the love that dare not speak its name” does declare itself loudly and proudly.
